AT&T said today it has begun offering a network-based security service that helps monitor Web content and messaging traffic, scanning and screening for viruses, spyware and other malware.

The service’s key features include monitoring and reporting of Web traffic at the network level; near-real-time scanning of requested Web sites and files; IM-filtering capabilities with archived storage; and a Web-based portal for administration and reporting.

This will be interesting to watch.
